Each child develops at their own pace, in their own time frame. Some children are motor-driven and some are not. This gross motor checklist is useful if you’re wondering about your child’s gross motor development. Don’t become caught up with the ages listed, as they are only guidelines--developed by observing how a typical child progresses. You are looking for a progression of motor skills.
If you have concerns, share them with your pediatrician at your next visit. A referral might be appropriate at that time to LifeScape for further evaluation.
