Residential

LifeScape has licensed residential programs for children and adults in Sioux Falls.

Children and Young Adult Living Environments

LifeScape offers a loving, structured residential program for children and young adults through age 21.  The goal is to return individuals to their own families and schools as quickly as possible.  Most attend our specialty school, but some may attend a public school.

Licensed by the South Dakota Department of Human Services

The children and young adult residential program is licensed by the state as an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-ID).  We specialize in supporting children and adolescents with complex developmental, behavioral, and intellectual disabilities. Many of these individuals also have mental health or medical conditions.

Person-Centered Planning

We work with individuals and their families to create the life they want, with as much choice and independence as possible. Individuals learn self-care, social skills, self-advocacy, and work skills.

Adult Living Environments

We take great pride in helping people live as independently as possible. Some live in apartments or homes that they rent or own.  Others live in groups of four to 12 in properties owned by LifeScape.  Some adults need support 24 hours a day, and others need help only one or two hours a month. LifeScape has housing options specifically for adults with autism spectrum disorders and for those with brain injuries.

South Dakota's First Nationally Accredited Program

In 1979, we became South Dakota's first agency to be nationally accredited under the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL).  We are licensed by the Department of Human Services as a Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) provider. These programs are often called Community Support Providers or CSPs.

Person-Centered Thinking

We take great pride in assisting people to live as independently as possible through person-centered planning. Some people live in apartments or homes that they rent or own. Other people live in homes with 4 to 12 roommates in properties they rent or that are owned by LifeScape. Some people need support 24 hours a day, and others need assistance one or two hours a week.
